Portrait obscured

This is both a portrait and abstract painting depending on which side you view the work from. As you move from left to right, the portait becomes obscured by dark textural elements. 
Oils on Belgian linen, with dried grass and crushed stone, linen cloth that was stained and hand stitched over the surface.
